Remarkable Achievements of Dr. Ng Lap Seng

Dr. Ng Lap Seng was born on June 26, 1948 in  Nanhai City of Guangdong Province, China to a poor family. Being an intelligent young boy, he was kind-hearted in his nature. He not only attended both his parents with filial piety, he was also diligent and studious. Since his childhood, he has determined to do something big to make his family elate and proud of him. Starting from second grade, therefore, he did odds and ends after school hours earning meager money to help out his family. Teachers and hometown elders admired and encouraged him to work his way to complete primary school. Instead of further education, however, he decided to start from scratch and take some labored and basic level of jobs, including catching fish, selling fish, farming, being an apprentice and garment factory management in order to resolve the reality of life. In 1979, he exchanged his years of accumulated savings in to $100 Hong Kong dollars and went alone to Macau, which was a place completely strange and realistic to him, full of discrimination against foreign homeless and having no one to turn to as well. His daily meal was three steamed buns only, and he slept on the street during night every day for more than one month. He then attentively considered his future and carefully found a way out. Finally he chose to do as a fabric and garment street vendor. In order to support the entire family, he tried to buy from wholesalers on credits, but unsuccessful. And that`s how he decided to start his small business of fabric and garment on his own. Using the time-crossing selling method of rolling at different places, he successfully developed his business. He successfully resolved the problem of supporting entire family and, moreover, transformed from a street vendor to a service wholesaler in the business of fabric ad garment, laying a very solid foundation for his future carer and also the largest and most critical turning point toward his road to success in life.

Dr. Ng transformed his business from a service wholesaler into the first Kin Yip firm by importing fabrics from Taiwan, Hong Kong and South Korea and selling directly to Macau and mainland China, and at the same time establishing a small garment factory in Zhuhai of Guangdong Province. His Diligent management brought him a productive business and a profit year after year, turning his firm gradually into a medium-sized enterprise. In 1989 he began investing in the Macau real estate business. The successful and rapid development of his business made him to enter into the field of diversified investment business. He had determined to take his career into international and macroscopic development at the goal. Dr. Ng was a person having his feet on the ground and with great vision, vigorous spirit ad quick thinking. He was also bold yet cautious and an outstanding young man full of ideals, aspirations and ambitions. Thus Dr. Ng had earned a place in the real estate industry in Macao on account of his importance.

In 1992, his investment in the diversified business in Macau included the industries of real estate, trading, garment, hotel, restaurant, tourism, etc.. In other to serve his country, he brought most of the money back to China and invested heavily in real estate and restaurant in Guangdong Province, Sichuan Province, Shanghai and Beijing. Also in 1996 he purchased a piece of land adjacent to the Lisboa Casino in the most prosperous areas of Macau and self-built a modernized intelligent 23-story building, the Centro Commercial San Kin Yip. In the 19th story, the San Kin Yip Group. was establish as the central command center to control its 36 sole-ownership subsidiary companies and 97 joint ventures, a total investment of more than thirty billion Hong Kong dollars.

In accordance with the concept and exercise of diligence, simplicity, sincere with people, maintaining good reputation and stable development, the aspirations of having a foothold on Macau, looking into the prospect of China, moving to wards the world, a world view and the decision of serving the homeland, Dr. Ng put more than two billion U.S. dollars to carry out the largest cross-century project in Macau, the 45 acres of land reclamation in South Bay Lake. Dozens of residential buildings with various styles, office buildings, major hotels, high-end stores, large department stores, casinos and shopping centers were built and integrated into a commercial center. In addition, Dr. Ng assisted the Macau government in the construction of economic housing to solve the housing problem for the mid and low income people. Over ten billion Hong Kong dollars were invested in a number of real estate in several cities of Guangdong Province and the Zhuhai-Macau Bridge, and moreover, more than 15 billion Hong Kong dollars were invested in Shanghai, Beijing and Sichuan Province for a number of constructions. Because of his outstanding performance and contributions, the University of the Pacific awarded an Honorary Doctorate in Economics to Dr. Ng.

In addition to committing full efforts to various businesses, Dr. Ng established good relationship with the Portuguese Republic authorities, top officials and the Macanese as well. He actively contributed to the communities of Macao and donated substantial amount of money for Macao impoverished people. And for the return of Macao to China, the smooth transition and long-term development plan, he provided many building and reform programs with great contributions, playing a very important role for the Macau authorities. In the service of China, huge disaster relief funds were donated to several provinces with disasters. As for transportation, education, disability, art and culture, various funds were also established including helping raise more than ten thousand poor children in western China and adopting more than 100 orphans. With so much contribution for the people, Dr. Ng was called "a human living Buddha", a way of showing great appreciation from the people. In particular, Dr. Ng promoted cross-strait cultural exchange, economic cooperation and peace development, together with Dr. Chu-sung Lin, in order to push through KMT-Communist reconciliation and improve normalization and peaceful development of cross-strait relationship, which was a great contribution for both sides. In addition, Dr. Ng spared no effort in promotion substantive and friendly relations, cultural exchanges and cooperation in economic and trade for China with 28 countries, and 34 regions in the Caribbean and Latin America areas. The Sovereigns of the Caribbean and Latin American nations were vigorously subsidized when they visited China and Macau, and tremendous contributions were also made to promote peaceful and stable development among the Caribbean and Latin America nations.

Furthermore, Dr. Ng supported poverty alleviation activities for children of the world and promoted world harmony by providing huge sponsorship with all his strength. As a result, Dr. Ng received both the Millennium Development Goals Awards from the United Nations and the World Harmony Award from the United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon in March, 2009, and also the highest Medal of Honor from the Ligue Universelle Du Bien Public of france in 2010, in recognition his extraordinary contributions to the world.

    Roving Ambassador for Peace

    Member, World Peace Congress

    Dear my volunteer peace workers,

I am greatly admired with my wife Mrs. Pun Nun Ho to receive the prestigious World Peace Prize - Main Prize with the titles of Roving Ambassador for Peace, Member, World Peace Congress and the World Human Cultural Asset in recognition of my humble services and accomplishments in the past.

I and my wife are heartly grateful to God and the Chief Judge, Hon. Lester Wolff and Chairman Dr. Han Min Su along with the all WPPAC Judges, for their firm support and righteous recognition on my humble services toward peace, harmony and humanitarian causes.

Especially, we are highly inspired of the WPPAC noble principles of inter-religious collaborations of peace force leading under the spirit of mutual understanding and respects by and between the world seven(7) major religions namely Judaism, Catholic, Christianity, Muslim, Hinduism, Buddhism and Confucianism exploitating the characteristic mechanism of the borderless privileges of the religious rights that are guaranteed in the constitutions of all democratic nations in the world.

Thus, WPPAC has particularity been successful to encourage, compliment and recognize the prominent world leaders in the past twenty one(21) years by awarding the World Peace Prizes maintaining Good Standing Status with Washington D.C. government USA.

How great and wonderful WPPAC has set a good historical records unprecedently throughout the past human history!

As I have been grown owing to my family tradition under the Chinese philosophical belief that 積金以遺子孫 未必 子孫 能盡守, 積書以遺子孫 未必 子孫 能盡讀 不如 積陰德於冥冥之中 以爲子孫之計也 which means, however you may inherit your children with great quantity of pure golds they could not possibly preserve it safely nor should you inherit good books to your beloved children they could not possibly read and understand them all and therefore you should rather practice the noble and merciful conducts of renderings of ethics and morality to the general publics imprinting the noble image name of the high ethical behaviours to your descendants!

On the occasion of my receiving the World Peace Prize we are reaffirmed that I shall with my wife Mrs. Pun Nun Ho keep devote ourselves for the regional and world peace, harmony and humanitarian causes especially continued reconciliation for finalizing reunification of my great country of China.

I sincerely thank God and WPPAC members and truly ask your continued guidance and assistance.
